TrekTipi Bushcraft Adventure

Our new for 2017 Trek Tipi Bushcraft Adventure is the complete outdoor experience. Run in association with our friends at MCQ Bushcraft, this adventure takes place over 2 days in the splendour of the Lake District National Park.


A Typical Trek Tipi Adventure . . .

can be so different from week to week! Nature cannot be controlled and if she wants to do something, then she just does it! It's up to us to adapt to her and learn to live alongside her way of doing things.

That being said, we do try and plan just a little bit, so below is a rough timetable of events that we run things around and just some of what you can expect from your amazing Trek Tipi Bushcraft Adventure!



Trektipi is aimed at everybody (Min 12 yrs**) and providing you have a reasonable level of fitness then there's no reason why you can't join us on our adventures.

All of our courses are suitable for novice outdoors people, expert however as is always the case with The Nature, we never stop learning


Here's what you can expect:

This will be a hands on course that will be based entirely outdoors in the heart of the Lake District. In addition to the core subjects below you will gain many other skills that are required to support them including natural cordages, knots and knife maintenance.

You are welcome to bring your own kit, we do love to see new gadgets! Please do also bring adequate clothing including waterproofs and do have a look at the kit list for a full itinerary of what you will require as some items will not be provided.


Over the 2 days your adventure will include:

       Understanding and selecting Knives, Saws and Axes while learning how to use them safely in a wilderness environment.

       Exploring shelter construction using man-made methods, also focusing heavily on natural resources to create primitive shelters.

       Creating insulation by weaving plant fibers to create mats, walls and beds to enhance the thermal capability of a shelter.

       Sourcing water and understanding how to remove or neutralise pathogens and contaminants by looking at man-made filtration options and constructing an emergency water filter from natural materials.

       Understanding fire lighting skills covering a broad range of methods and natural materials while encompassing fire safety, ground conditions, weather.

        Learning how to prepare a freshly killed animal for food. This will be for our communal stew at dinner. You will assess the condition of the animal, learn how to check its overall health and butcher it for the pot.

       Learn how to read the surrounding forest and notice the signs that guide you on your way. Nature is full of clues and tell-tale sign posts that have been used by millennia by indigenous peoples to find their way around.

        A night under the stars! Learn how to read the night sky. We will teach you the easiy way to find the North Star. You need never be lost at night again.

You can expect to be saying farewell to your fellow adventurers around 4.40pm.

  • Menu:    Autumn forest chilli with jacket potatoes for dinner and a choice of sausages, ┬ácereal or porridge for breakfast. Lunches for both days will also be provided.


In the event of bad weather, some activities/routes may be altered for safety reasons.


If you require a vegetarian menu, or have any other dietary requirements, then please let us know at the time of booking and we will happily arrange this for you.
